Sarah Powers is a writer, speaker, wife, and mother of four. She is the driving force behind Top Buttons, serving as its President and CEO. Her mission is to encourage and equip all young women in their God-given purpose, and especially those who are in at risk and vulnerable life situations. Under her leadership, Top Buttons has expanded to four locations in Polk County, FL, impacting over 500 young women annually through life skills education and clothing resources. Additionally, Top Buttons has an affiliate program where other communities may join the mission and start a Top Buttons in their city.

Sarah's background in competitive water sports for most of her childhood has instilled a hard work ethic, resilience and grit for all her endeavors including cycling. In 2016, Sarah found out she had Thyroid Cancer which resulted in a full thyroidectomy, radiation and challenges with her compromised immune system. As a cancer survivor, she desparately sought after a type of exercise to positively impact her health journey. Initially she focused on running which she also still enjoys. However, running for Sarah led to stress fractures. At the encouragement of a running and cycling friend, she decided to give cycling a try. It wasn’t long before she was all in with cycling. She especially grew to love Zwift, endurance cycling and riding in the mountains. When she is not cycling or working at Top Buttons, she says she is an uber for her kids who all have the same energy she has. She also passionately supports her local church.

Her participation in RAAM serves a dual purpose: supporting Top Buttons' mission to transform the journey of young women and promoting #moregirlsonbikes. This fusion of her passion for cycling with Top Buttons' cause has reinvigorated her sense of purpose, demonstrating that success in the nonprofit realm demands new ideas and unwavering commitment, irrespective of challenges. Sarah is excited to take on the RAAM challenge, driven by the positive impact it will bring to both causes.
